Responsibilities

The Assistant Manager will be responsible for assisting in the oversight of gym operations to ensure an exceptional “Judgement Free” member experience as well as a financially successful club.

Full time: 40 hours per week. Must be able to work a full‑time schedule that may exceed 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week, including potential travel, nights, weekends, and holidays to support business needs.

Daily responsibilities include:

  • Achieve or exceed individual sales goals, contribute to club monthly and yearly goals.
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, training and developing a high‑performing staff consisting of Member Service Representatives, Trainers and Custodians.
  • Assist in maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members and guests and ensuring staff follows superior customer service guidelines.
  • Assist with Staff Management and provide backup support to Club Manager as needed.
  • Assist in scheduling and supervising staff.
  • Member service oversight – ensuring staff is providing a superior customer experience at all times.
  • Assist in resolving or escalating employee issues or concerns.
  • Involved in all front desk related activities, including answering phones, checking members into the system, new member sign‑ups, and facilitating tours.
  • Facilitate all member requests, issues and questions.
  • Assist in overseeing cleanliness and maintenance of facility.
  • Assist in ordering supplies using a specific budget based on club requirements.
  • Assist in tracking statistics and reports (weekly, monthly, and annually).
  • Provide backup support for any employee who is absent.

Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Passion for helping others.

  • Previous management experience is preferred.
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Suite).
  • Current CPR Certification preferred.
  • High school diploma/GED equivalent required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Confident problem‑solver.
Physical Demands of the Assistant Manager
  • Continual standing and moving throughout the club to accomplish tasks during shift.
  • Continual communicating in person or on the phone to exchange information during shift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Will occasionally encounter toxic chemicals during shift.
  • Frequent cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities.
  • Moving oneself in different positions, including bending and twisting, to accomplish tasks.
