This position is responsible for the efficient operation of FBS through system and process development, definition, and coordination at our vast, 63-acre facility. Significant heavy manufacturing takes place both in several fab shops, as well as on the waterfront. The successful candidate will support the 1,000+ working men and women on our waterfront by supporting the core business functions of strategic integration, continuous improvement, production engineering and design, production planning and manufacturing.

• Development of shipyard strategic plans to ensure the achievement of business objectives.
• Support the development and maintenance of key dates and milestones for each project.
• Development of integrated business operating plans and schedules.
• Study and implementation of Capex investment (with ROI analysis).
• Develop of IMS activity and WBS structure in coordination with the PP&C Department.
• Development of facility investment plans in coordination with the Facilities Department.
• Identify, evaluate, develop, and report on Lean Manufacturing, Process Improvement, and SS initiatives.
• Definition of project specific Build Strategy for Structure and Outfitting, Shipbuilding Units and Zones, and Standard Production Cycle Plan.
• Support and coordinate implementation of the Build Strategies, Product Oriented Drawings, and Palletization with the Engineering Department.
• Identify and conduct research and development of processes and technology for improved production.
• Define the Workstation Yard Map and Workstation Plan, and perform a significant re-plan if needed.
• Identify, elicit, evaluate, develop and manage Man Tech and NSRP projects.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop "Micro-Methods" of production to improve efficiency.
• Identify and implement an efficient manufacturing processes and technology through industrial engineering.
• Develop plans for manufacturing support activities (ship ventilation plans, module move and transport, barges, platforms, etc.)
• Design of Jigs and fixtures for construction and unit transport.
• Must abide by and enforce all organizational policies and procedures.
• Ability and willingness to engage in highly energetic pursuits on the waterfront.

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably in Naval Architecture
• At least 5 years of related work experience in the field of production engineering or (preferably) shipbuilding and/or ship design
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and Word
• Must have strong organizational and time management skills
• Must have the ability to maintain a professional demeanor
• Must have ability to maintain confidentiality

• Experience with AutoCAD systems
