This role develops, implements, and maintains the company s environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance, particularly for painting and decaling processes.
Job TitleJob Title: EHS Engineer
Responsibilities- Compliance Management:
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations, including Title VI air permits. - Risk Assessments:
Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits; identify hazards and implement corrective actions. - Training and Development:
Develop and deliver EHS training programs; ensure employees understand and adhere to safety protocols. - Incident Investigation:
Support investigations into EHS incidents, perform root cause analyses, and implement preventive measures. - Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain EHS logs and documentation; prepare reports and submit to regulatory agencies in a timely manner. - Hazardous Waste Management:
Oversee storage, labeling, and disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with regulations. - Emergency Response:
Develop and manage emergency response plans, including first aid and evacuation procedures. - Safety Equipment:
Coordinate purchase, maintenance, and inspection of safety and PPE. - Behavioral Safety:
Promote a culture of safety through behavior-based safety programs and safety meetings. - Facility Inspections:
Conduct regular manufacturing floor inspections to ensure EHS presence and support. - Policy Development:
Assist in writing, implementing, and managing EHS policies and procedures tailored to aluminum delivery truck manufacturing and painting processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in manufacturing.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and Title VI regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with employees at all levels and drive cultural change.
- Experience with hazardous waste management and emergency response planning.
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
- Regularly walk the manufacturing floor.
- Exposure to manufacturing environments, including painting and decaling areas.
- Travel may be required to MI or TN.
