Job Title: EHS Engineer

Responsibilities
  • Compliance Management:
    Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations, including Title VI air permits.
  • Risk Assessments:
    Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits; identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Training and Development:
    Develop and deliver EHS training programs; ensure employees understand and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Incident Investigation:
    Support investigations into EHS incidents, perform root cause analyses, and implement preventive measures.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    Maintain EHS logs and documentation; prepare reports and submit to regulatory agencies in a timely manner.
  • Hazardous Waste Management:
    Oversee storage, labeling, and disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with regulations.
  • Emergency Response:
    Develop and manage emergency response plans, including first aid and evacuation procedures.
  • Safety Equipment:
    Coordinate purchase, maintenance, and inspection of safety and PPE.
  • Behavioral Safety:
    Promote a culture of safety through behavior-based safety programs and safety meetings.
  • Facility Inspections:
    Conduct regular manufacturing floor inspections to ensure EHS presence and support.
  • Policy Development:
    Assist in writing, implementing, and managing EHS policies and procedures tailored to aluminum delivery truck manufacturing and painting processes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in manufacturing.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and Title VI regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with employees at all levels and drive cultural change.
  • Experience with hazardous waste management and emergency response planning.
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
Working Conditions
  • Regularly walk the manufacturing floor.
  • Exposure to manufacturing environments, including painting and decaling areas.
  • Travel may be required to MI or TN.
