Help Desk Technician

. This is an on‑site, hands‑on position with no remote work available.
Salary Grade: 6
Primary PurposeOrganize, install, and support all computer systems; investigate and resolve computer software and hardware problems.
Roles & Expected Behaviors- Practice and encourage safety practices, aiming for zero lost time.
- Implement 5S and participate in regular team 5S audits.
- Set an example with energy, positivity, and hard work.
- Work independently with standardized instructions to achieve results.
- Solve semi‑routine issues using problem‑solving analysis, prioritizing processes and routines.
- Meet reasonable expectations for the current position, maintain excellent productivity and quality, and participate in team process audits.
- Communicate clearly, courteously, effectively, honestly, and openly with team members and others.
- Develop positive relationships, actively participate in huddles and goal setting.
- Arrive on time and remain engaged for the full assigned shift.
- Recognize and document patterns in processes and problem solving.
- Participate in employee reviews, including setting and achieving goals.
- Act as primary point of contact for IT support via the OAK request system.
- Install and configure workstations, hardware, software, peripherals, and cabling.
- Diagnose, evaluate, and resolve issues; log all repairs accurately and timely.
- Discuss software errors with developers and recommend program changes.
- Attend multi‑day off‑site training sessions, weekend and evening work, and after‑hours emergency calls as required.
- Provide basic computer usage training and company resource orientation.
- Identify shortages of computer and network equipment and assist with replacements.
- Associate’s degree and IT‑related certifications preferred.
- 1–2 years of help desk experience in a Windows domain environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills.
- Ability to stay calm and focused to achieve goals.
- High energy level; comfortable handling multi‑faceted projects in conjunction with daily tasks.
- Can work well under pressure and adapt to rapidly changing technology, business environments, and company goals.
- Strong interpersonal skills; able to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, mature, and flexible.
- Documentation of a drug screen must be provided prior to employment.
