Schedule:
12 hour rotating swing shift (4 days 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., 4 days off, 4 nights 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., 4 nights off), including overtime as needed.
Whitener Trainee operates, inspects and conducts maintenance activities on equipment related to milling of rice to ensure that the equipment is functioning properly, is well maintained, and product is within specification/requirement. Responsible for cleaning, and sanitation of the milling area, and milling equipment. Dry cleaning using compressed air and sweeping of equipment and structures of the area(s), on a defined frequency.
Responsible for inspection records, maintenance records and sanitation records. Also responsible for notifying supervisor/management of any quality, food safety, or food security issues.
- Must be willing with or without accommodation to climb up to 40 feet as needed.
- Must be willing with or without accommodation to work at heights up to 140 feet off the ground.
- Must be willing and able with or without accommodation to lift 80
-100 lbs. as needed throughout the day. - Must be willing and able to bend, stoop, push, pull, twist and turn throughout the day.
- Must be willing and able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time.
- Must be willing and able to work in hot and cold temperatures for periods of time.
- Must be willing and able to be trained to do required paperwork.
- Must be willing and able to be trained to do basic maintenance on the machines. (Using screwdrivers, wrenches, clamps, etc.)
- Must be willing to follow all safety policies, procedures, and personal protective equipment requirements.
- Must possess good communication skills to communicate with Mill Operator and Shift Supervisor.
- Must be willing and able to wear the required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
- Must be willing and able to follow all safety and food safety rules.
- Other duties as requested by supervisor.
