We are currently seeking adetail-oriented and organized Payroll Administrator to join our Accounting Department.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers,maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring employees are paid accurately and ontime.
Responsibilities- Process bi-weekly payroll for multiple companiesusing Payroll software.
- Review and verify employee timecards, commissions,bonuses, vacation, statutory holiday, and overtime calculations.
- Maintain employee payroll records and ensure compliance with Employment Standards legislation and company policies.
- Process new hires, terminations, Records of Employment (ROEs), and employee payroll changes.
- Administer payroll deductions, taxable benefits,garnishments, and group benefits.
- Reconcile payroll accounts and preparepayroll-related journal entries.
- Prepare and remit payroll source deductions,WSIB, EHT, and other government remittances.
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries in aprofessional and confidential manner.
- Assist with month-end and year-end payrollprocedures, including T4 preparation.
- Maintain accurate payroll documentation and employee files.
- Assist the accounting department with administrative and accounting duties as required.
- Support continuous improvement of payroll and accounting processes.
- Bachelor's degree or college diploma in Accounting,Payroll Administration, Business, or a related field.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designationor enrollment in the National Payroll Institute program is considered astrong asset.
- Minimum of two years of payroll administration experience.
- Experience processing payroll for multiplecompanies or locations is preferred.
- Knowledge of Ontario Employment Standards Act(ESA), payroll legislation, CRA requirements, and statutory deductions.
- Experience with dealership management systems, orsimilar payroll software is considered an asset.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
