Payroll Clerk at Laurentian University

Location: Greater Sudbury

Join Laurentian University as a Payroll Clerk and streamline monthly payroll processing. This full-time temporary position requires payroll expertise and excellent analytical skills to manage employee compensation effectively.

Reporting to the Manager of Payroll, you will assist in processing payroll for both unionized and non-unionized employees. Your work will include payroll reconciliations, managing assignment contracts, and responding to employee inquiries. This role requires attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality across payroll operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer monthly payroll for all employee types

• Analyze assignment contracts and salary changes

• Process benefits paperwork and file legal remittances

• Reconcile payroll data and resolve discrepancies

• Maintain confidentiality and assist fellow payroll clerks

Requirements:

• Two-year college certificate or equivalent

• 3-5 years of payroll experience in a unionized setting

• Payroll Compliance Practitioner certification (in progress acceptable)

• Advanced Excel and relevant software skills

• Fluent in English and French (verbal and written)
