Qualifications
A minimum of 5‑10 years’ experience working in a heavy civil construction environment performing regular maintenance duties on Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi, and John Deere construction equipment.
Fall protection, power lines hazards, air brake endorsement, WHMIS 2015, utility safety training, first aid, and lock‑out/tag‑out training.
Familiarity with Safety Instrumented Systems, My Komatsu, and Cummins computer applications.
Ability to work proactively and effectively, with excellent organizational and task‑execution skills.
Must be able to work in a team environment.
Knowledge of standard Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements and practices in the construction industry.
Must be able to work on a rotational basis on remote sites/camp accommodations.
Must be able to work day and night shift.
Valid driver’s licence or equivalent would be an asset.
Primary work location:
Sudbury, Ontario.
Duties
Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair equipment in a heavy civil construction environment.
Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure work meets manufacturers’ specifications.
Maintain regular interaction with other construction equipment.
Exercise extreme caution with awareness of potential situational hazards to ensure site safety.
Be responsible for the safe operation of equipment while following manufacturers’ and industry standards.
Attend daily pre‑shift meetings and toolbox meetings.
Interpret verbal and non‑verbal communication (including hand signals) from others and act accordingly.
Perform other duties as required.
