Since 1975, we have delivered commercial, institutional, industrial, and multi-residential building projects across Northern and Central Ontario.
The Role
CGV is seeking an Architectural Technologist to join our in-house design team at our Cochrane office. Work may involve conceptual design, permit drawings, construction documents, or a combination of these on commercial, industrial, and multi-residential projects.
The role involves coordinating with other design disciplines, both in-house and external, and working alongside CGV’s estimating, project management, and construction teams.
Responsibilities
Develop conceptual design materials, including building layouts, 3D models, and architectural renderings.
Prepare architectural drawings and specifications for site plan approval, building permit applications, and construction.
Coordinate architectural work with structural, civil, mechanical, and electrical design disciplines as required.
Review and apply relevant building code, accessibility, planning, and client requirements.
Respond to requests for information, prepare site instructions, and issue drawing revisions during construction.
Conduct site visits to review construction progress and address design-related issues in the field.
Maintain CGV’s drawing standards and project files.
Qualifications
An advanced diploma in architectural technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Previous experience in a design or construction environment is an asset. New graduates are welcome to apply.
Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
Knowledge of building construction, architectural detailing, and the Ontario Building Code.
Attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
CGV is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from all qualified candidates.
