Indigenous Graduation Coach Position

Location: Greater Sudbury

Become an integral part of supporting Indigenous learners as a Kendaaswin Ekiitang (Indigenous Graduation Coach). Focus on mentorship, academic success, and cultural engagement.

The Indigenous Graduation Coach will work collaboratively to help students achieve their Ontario Secondary School Diploma and transition to post-secondary paths. By building strong relationships with Indigenous students, you will identify barriers and create solutions that enhance their learning experience. The role involves mentoring, engagement with parents, and working alongside school staff and community partners to improve student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support Indigenous students in achieving their secondary school diploma

• Mentor students on cultural and academic transitions

• Collaborate with parents and community partners

• Identify barriers impacting student engagement

• Assist staff to enhance graduation rates for Indigenous students

Requirements:

• Strong relationship-building skills with Indigenous communities

• Experience in education or mentoring roles

• Understanding of Indigenous cultures and challenges

• Ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders

• Commitment to student success and well-being
