Based in Sudbury
, you’ll support geotechnical, civil, and mining projects that strengthen safe, sustainable infrastructure and resource development across Northern Ontario.
You’ll work closely with engineers, technologists, and field teams while building skills in both field and laboratory environments. Your contributions—whether supporting drilling programs, conducting testing, or organizing project data—will directly impact the success of our clients and communities.
Your Impact- Assist with geotechnical, civil, and mining field investigations, including soil, rock, and construction material sampling.
- Support drilling programs, test pitting, site inspections, and construction monitoring.
- Perform field testing following relevant MTO/CSA/ASTM and project‑specific standards.
- Maintain clear, accurate field notes, records, and sample logs.
- Enter, review, and organize field and laboratory data for project teams.
- Participate in safety meetings, hazard assessments, and training to support WSP’s Safety‑First culture.
- Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Geotechnical Engineering Technology, Mining Technology, or a related field.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly to project sites.
- 0–3 years of experience in geotechnical, civil, mining, or materials testing (co‑op or internship experience an asset).
- Interest in hands‑on field and laboratory work, including outdoor work in varying conditions.
- Detail‑oriented, practical, and committed to producing accurate, high‑quality work.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Assets: TDG certification for portable nuclear gauges, experience with compaction testing, and CCIL concrete certification.

CompensationAB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $57,500–$76,200
MB & ON: $52,500–$72,300
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $52,000–$69,000
