We are looking for a dedicated engineer to join our collaborative Ground Engineering team tackling geotechnical challenges across Northern Ontario (North Bay, Sault Ste. Marie, Timmins, or Thunder Bay). You will work closely with our professionals, industry experts, and clients on projects throughout Ontario and potentially across Canada.

- Assist in growth of WSP’s Geotechnical Engineering presence in Northern Ontario.
- Lead and manage geotechnical engineering projects from inception to completion.
- Facilitate site investigations, soil and rock sampling, and geotechnical analysis.
- Prepare and review geotechnical reports, designs, and recommendations.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and intermediate engineers and technical staff.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Participate in business development activities, including proposal preparation, client meetings, presentations, and team development.
- Stay current with advancements in geotechnical engineering and incorporate new technologies and methodologies into projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant post‑degree experience in geotechnical engineering, focusing on consulting and/or project management.
- Track record in business development and strong existing client base preferred.
- Demonstrated success in customer service, client management, and proposal/report writing.
- Strong technical knowledge in soil mechanics, foundation engineering, slope stability, and ground improvement techniques.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software and tools.
- Excellent technical writing, interpersonal communication, and emotional intelligence.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Ontario Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Sense of initiative, attention to detail, and team spirit.
