Position Overview

We are currently seeking an Environment Coordinator to join Glencore Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations in Greater Sudbury, Ontario. The position will be based in Onaping, Greater Sudbury, Ontario. This is a full‑time, permanent staff position. Range of Pay: $125,800 to $140,000 plus annual variable compensation bonus.

Work location is not accessible by public transportation.

Duties and Accountabilities

The Environment Coordinator reports to the Occupational Hygiene & Environment Specialist and is accountable for providing advice on project‑specific regulations, coordinating activities that protect the environment and worker health and safety while maintaining profitability. The role participates in design, planning and implementation of effective management systems, control programs, manuals, procedures and forms to ensure compliance with environmental legislation, corporate practices, policies and procedures.

The Coordinator liaises with government regulators and stakeholders to identify potential risks and opportunities in regulatory changes. The position directly supervises the Occupational Hygiene/Environmental Technician(s) and/or Technologist(s) and summer students, and collaborates with the Site Rehabilitation Lead and Occupational Hygiene Lead to achieve environmental objectives. The Coordinator provides expertise in developing and ensuring implementation of cost‑effective improvements to environmental programs and initiatives.

Education and Skills

Minimum of a university undergraduate degree in environment or a related science, with at least 5 years of relevant work experience in the environment discipline. The candidate should have strong technical knowledge of environmental obligations and management systems, and strong leadership, communication, analytical and planning skills to manage scope and distributed obligations.
