Intermediate Mechanical Engineer, Power Generation

Role Overview

Intermediate Mechanical Engineer on the Energy team. You will join a group of innovators focused on renewable energy, power generation, and energy‑modernization projects across the full project lifecycle.

• Design mechanical piping and equipment for power generation facilities.
• Prepare mechanical equipment and packaged equipment specifications, data sheets, RFQs, and technical bid evaluations.
• Review mechanical equipment vendor drawings and data.
• Interface with suppliers, clients, other engineering disciplines, and detailers/designers to ensure effective communication.
• Prepare construction and installation scopes of work for mechanical systems.
• Participate in the development of process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
• Perform piping design activities, including sizing, pressure drop calculations, stress analysis, and pipe support design.
• Mentor and guide less experienced engineers.

• University Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
• 6 to 10 years of relevant mechanical engineering design experience within the EPCM workplace, focusing on power generation projects (required).
• Current professional engineer licence (P.Eng, Ing, PE) in the province of practice.
• Experience with in a consulting environment desired.
• Working knowledge of Microstation or AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of Smart Plant 3D or CADworx.
• Experience using Caesar II or Auto Pipe.
• Experience using Thermoflow.
