Ground Control Specialist – Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations, Greater Sudbury, Ontario
Position OverviewThis is a full‑time, permanent staff position based in Onaping, Greater Sudbury, Ontario. Pay range: $171,183 to $191,322, including annual variable compensation bonus. The role is being posted to fill an existing vacancy. Work location is not accessible by public transportation. Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis; early applications encouraged.
Duties and AccountabilitiesReporting to the Engineering Superintendent, the incumbent designs, implements, and monitors ground control systems and programs to ensure ground stability at mines, new projects, and legacy sites. The role requires maintaining strong relationships with Mine/Geology Directors, Site Chief Engineers/Geologists, Site Rehabilitation Specialists, and Mine Development Project Managers to provide overall program direction, technical excellence, and division consistency.

Education and Experience- Undergraduate degree in mining, civil, or geotechnical engineering
- Master’s degree in rock mechanics
- Minimum 12 years in an industrial, process‑based environment, with at least 6 years in a specialized field
- Significant practical experience in deep underground mining with rock‑bursting conditions
