Purpose:We are currently recruiting for a Senior Instrumentation Designer.
Our team includes world class experts and dynamic go-getters. This is afull-time position based in Sudbury,Ontario.
Senior Instrumentation Designer with extensive design experience in refineries, petrochemical, Mining & Minerals facilities. The candidate shall be capable of leading instrumentation design activities on multiple projects, coordinating work with engineers, designers, clients and vendors, and providing mentorship to junior designers. The successful candidate must be able to work independently, demonstrate strong technical leadership, excellent communication skills, and contribute to project execution from conceptual design through commissioning support.
Responsibilities:- Lead instrumentation design activities on small to medium-sized projects and support large multidisciplinary projects.
- Coordinate and supervise the work of junior and intermediate designers.
- Participate in project planning, estimating and scheduling activities related to instrumentation design deliverables.
- Review and check instrumentation design deliverables prepared by other designers to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Support procurement activities including material requisitions, technical evaluations and vendor drawing reviews.
- Support construction, commissioning and start-up activities including field inspections, design clarifications and resolution of site issues.
- Ensure instrumentation design deliverables comply with client standards, Worley procedures and applicable industry codes and standards.
- Identify design risks, inter-discipline conflicts and constructability concerns and recommend practical solutions.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior designers and actively support knowledge transfer within the department.
- Participate in model reviews, constructability reviews and interdisciplinary design reviews.
Coordinate design activities with Global Integrated Delivery (GID) teams when required.
What you will bring:Technical and Industry
Experience:
- Minimum 10–15 years of instrumentation design experience in Mining & Metals, Petrochemical or Industrial facilities.
- Instrument Indexes and I/O Lists.
- Instrument Datasheets and Specifications.
- Instrument Loop Diagrams.
- Junction Box and Marshalling Cabinet Layouts.
- Instrument Location Plans.
- Control Panel Layouts.
- Control System Architecture Drawings.
- Wiring Diagrams.
- Cable Schedules.
- Conduit and Cable Routing Drawings.
- Material Take-Offs and Bills of Materials.
- Construction Work Packages.
- Working knowledge of industrial communication systems and fiber optic networks.
- Working knowledge of field instrumentation selection including flow, level, temperature and pressure instruments.
- Experience performing interdisciplinary coordination within 3D model environments including AVEVA E3D and Navisworks.
- Experience supporting greenfield and brownfield mining, metals, refinery and petrochemical projects.
- Experience with Fire Detection and Alarm system design is preferred.
- Experience with Access Control Systems is a plus.
- Experience with CCTV and HVAC systems is a plus.
- Experience with SPI to produce Instrument Index, Datasheets, wiring and loop is preferred and not a must.
