Northern Ontario is growing, and so is WSP's Transportation & Infrastructure practice. As an Intermediate Project Engineer
, you'll contribute to meaningful municipal and land development projects that help communities thrive while supporting economic growth across the region.
Working alongside multidisciplinary teams across Ontario, you'll help deliver essential infrastructure solutions for municipal, transportation, industrial, mining, and land development clients. This is an opportunity to build technical expertise, strengthen client relationships, and play an active role in the continued growth of WSP's presence throughout Northern Ontario.
Your ImpactDesign municipal and land development infrastructure including water mains, wastewater systems, stormwater management facilities, site servicing, and roadway networks that support sustainable community growth.
Prepare engineering calculations, reports, specifications, cost estimates, and design drawings that inform critical project decisions.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, project managers, CAD technicians, and technical specialists to deliver integrated infrastructure solutions.
Support municipal approvals and coordinate with agencies, utilities, and stakeholders throughout project development and implementation.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff, contributing to the growth of future engineering talent.
Assist construction teams through contract administration, field reviews, and resolution of on-site technical challenges.
Contribute to proposals, RFP responses, and project pursuits that strengthen client relationships and support business growth.
Support infrastructure projects across municipal, land development, transportation, industrial, and mining sectors throughout Northern Ontario.
The Skills That Set You Apart5-8 years of experience delivering municipal engineering, land development, or related civil infrastructure projects.
Degree in Civil Engineering and eligibility for, or registration as, a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario.
Experience designing municipal infrastructure systems including water, wastewater, stormwater, and roadway networks.
Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and strong familiarity with Ontario municipal design standards and approval processes.
Strong understanding of engineering design principles, project coordination, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Proven ability to build effective working relationships with clients, municipalities, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
Desire to take on increasing responsibility while contributing to the growth of a developing regional practice.
Experience working with Northern Ontario municipalities, Indigenous communities, industrial clients, or mining‑sector projects is considered an asset.
Valid Ontario driver's licence and willingness to travel periodically throughout Northern Ontario.
