Senior Mechanical Engineer, Sudbury, Ontario

Client’s services extend across Canada as they specialize in delivering high-quality, efficient, and dependable solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial projects for mechanical building services and fire protection systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide project management, design, and construction support services.

Develop and review mechanical requirements including scope, costing, and scheduling for projects.

Perform and review, detailed mechanical engineering tasks including calculations, specifications, drawings, datasheets, layouts, etc...) from concept to detailed engineering.

Ensure all work designed, specified, supplied and manufactured complies with regulatory requirements.

Participate in client meetings and represent the project’s mechanical requirements.

Promote and participate in business development to grow our Mechanical Building Sciences portfolio.

Qualifications

Degree in Mechanical engineering with a minimum of 8 years’ experience.

P.Eng. designation is mandatory.

Knowledge and solid understanding of:
Industry and regulatory codes including Ontario Building Code, ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA. Mechanical calculations (heat loss/gain, ventilation, hydraulic calculations, sanitary system calculations). Mechanical specifications for ducting, piping, fire protection and other mechanical building services.

Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

Must have exceptional written and oral communications skills with the ability to convey detailed technical information to managers, clients and peers.

Ability to prioritize tasks, take and provide direction from others to ensure the supply of quality deliverables.

Experience with the design of Fire protection systems and mechanical building services design experience is a plus.
