Location: Greater Sudbury

The Activation Support Staff plans and delivers engaging programs that promote physical, cognitive, emotional, and social well-being for clients. This role supports individual and group participation in meaningful activities that encourage independence, build confidence, and support rehabilitation goals. Creativity, compassion, and collaboration are key to success in this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and facilitate individual and group recreation and activation programs
  • Facilitate social interactions and group engagement to reduce isolation and enhance community participation.
  • Support clients in developing interpersonal, communication, and self-advocacy skills.
  • Encourage participation, confidence, and achievement.
  • Adapt activities to meet diverse abilities, including mobility limitations.
  • Assist clients with daily living skills, goal setting, problem-solving, and independent decision-making.
  • Track and document progress in collaboration with clients, team members, and community partners.
  • Maintain program materials, supplies, and equipment
  • Promote inclusion, dignity, and client autonomy in all activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned, in accordance with collective agreements and organizational policies.
Qualifications Education
  • Post‑secondary education in Recreation Therapy, Activation, Health Promotion, Gerontology or related field.
  • Alternatively, experience working in recreation therapy within the last two years.
Skills
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Group facilitation skills, with emphasis on social, recreational, and exercise activities.
  • Commitment to professional conduct, confidentiality, equity, and inclusion.
  • Creative, flexible, and client-centered approach
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
