Range of Pay: Group 6 - $2,072.00 to $2,442.30 bi-weekly

Main FunctionPerform general clerical duties by preparing, compiling and maintaining records.
Characteristic Duties- Maintain residents’ charts and records on a current basis and in an orderly fashion.
- Maintain the computerized resident care system, on a current basis, including generating and providing required reports.
- Answer the telephone and respond to inquiries from residents, families and visitors.
- Provide confidential clerical services and record keeping for the Manager of Resident Care and Resident Care Co-ordinators, including matters related to human resources and labour relations.
- Arrange annual team conferences, resident appointments and transportation as required.
- Facilitate resident laboratory services.
- Liaise with all sections to ensure appropriate transfer of information.
- Order and receive goods as directed, and organize inventory.
- Place High Intensity Needs (HIN) orders weekly; complete Notification of High Cost Service Requirement (NHCSR) forms for submission to the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care for reimbursement.
- Prepare month-end reports as required; distribute and provide information.
- Assist with booking appointments for contracted service providers.
- Maintain the Resident Care Manual and other Manuals as directed.
- Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of CGS's Safety Manual and the applicable Provincial Legislation listed therein.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Successful completion of Secondary School (Grade XII) Education.
- Community College Diploma in Health Unit Co-ordination or directly related field would be considered an asset.
- Two (2) years of directly related experience.
- Applicable legislation and related regulations.
- Medical terminology.
- Best practices within areas of responsibility.
- Horizontal linkages to other relevant governmental levels and services as well as the private sector.
- Demonstrate organizational and administrative skills.
- Demonstrate human relations skills in dealing with staff, Residents, Families and general public.
- Demonstrate and proven ability related to microcomputer software and administrative systems (e.g. files maintenance, word processing, computerized spreadsheet applications, information input and retrieval).
- Understand and meet the needs of customers.
- Balance conflicting demands from stakeholders.
- Provide a stabilizing influence within the Home.
- Demonstrate verbal and written communication skills.
- Mental and physical fitness to perform essential job functions.
- Excellent use of English; verbally and in writing.
- French verbal skills highly desirable; written skills an asset.
- Provide, at own cost, a Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Provide, at own cost, a Two-step Mantoux Test (TB).
- Provide, at own cost, N95 mask fitting.
