Job DescriptionWe are currently seeking experienced IT Systems Administrator to join our team at Levack Mine!
The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for ensuring the stability, security, availability, and performance of Magna Mining's Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure to support safe and reliable business operations.
All Magna Mining team members are expected to work collaboratively with others, lead the way in health and safety, act with honesty, integrity, and foster an entrepreneurial spirit in pursuit of excellence.
Responsibilities- Administer, maintain, and support physical, virtual, and cloud-based server infrastructure.
- Manage and support network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, wireless networks, VPNs, and related communication systems.
- Monitor server, network, and infrastructure performance to ensure availability, reliability, and operational effectiveness.
- Perform system administration activities including installation, configuration, patching, upgrading, and lifecycle management of infrastructure systems.
- Administer and maintain core technology services including Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra , DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and related platforms.
- Manage user accounts, access controls, permissions, and authentication systems in accordance with security policies and best practices.
- Administer backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions to ensure data protection and business continuity requirements are met.
- Monitor and maintain cybersecurity controls including endpoint protection, vulnerability management, security monitoring, and remediation activities.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex server, network, infrastructure, and system-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Provide technical support and escalation assistance for infrastructure-related incidents and service requests.
- Support the planning, implementation, and maintenance of infrastructure projects, technology upgrades, and system improvements.
- Assist with the deployment and integration of new technologies, systems, and infrastructure solutions.
- Monitor system capacity, utilization, and performance trends while identifying opportunities for improvement and optimization.
- Participate in after-hours maintenance, on-call support, and emergency response activities as required.
- Engage in end-user support and troubleshooting activities as required.
Qualifications:
Formal Education, Certifications or Equivalents
- Post‑secondary diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Administration, Systems Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience supporting and administering enterprise IT infrastructure environments.
- Experience administering server and network infrastructure, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and supporting infrastructure‑related projects.
- Experience with cybersecurity, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery practices is considered an asset.
- Experience in mining or industrial environments considered an asset.
- Strong technical troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Knowledge of server administration, network administration, and infrastructure support practices.
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
