About the role
We're a fast-growing conversion rate optimization agency that helps Shopify e-commerce brands increase revenue per visitor through post-purchase funnels and checkout optimization.
We've worked with some of the biggest brands in the space, like True Classic, Portland Leather, Ancestral Supplements, and over 200 other brands and need a hands-on CRO specialist to take ownership of building and testing across a portfolio of accounts.
This is a builder-and-strategist role. You'll work closely with our lead strategist, who sets direction and reviews results, while you handle the bulk of the building and run your own tests within that framework. If you know CRO inside and out, can move fast in After Sell and Shopify, and like owning your own experiments, understand UX and UI design this is for you.
What you'll do
- Build and launch post-purchase upsell funnels in After Sell across a portfolio of client accounts
- Build checkout upsells, in-cart upsells, and thank-you page offers
- Design clean, conversion-focused funnel creative in Figma
- Run structured A/B tests, document before-and-after performance, and iterate based on results
- Improve checkout conversion rate through targeted copy and design changes
- Identify your own optimization ideas, then collaborate with the strategy lead to decide what to test next
- Log every test in our Airtable workflow: launch dates, review dates, before-and-after screenshots, and results
- Occasionally handle light custom code work on accounts that need it (Ai friendly)
How you'll work
- Meet with the strategy lead twice a week to review test ideas, results, and next steps
- Come to those calls prepared, with your accounts reviewed and a clear point of view on what to test next
- Submit ideas and track all work through Airtable so the whole team has visibility
- Own your accounts and your timelines. Reliability matters here. When you commit to a test, it ships on schedule.
- Test out new ideas and concepts weekly to improve results and roll out winners to our portfolio of brands
- Adapt to a super fast paced environment (not just saying this, we move FAST)
CRO knowledge and qualifications
This is the core of the role. We need someone who already understands conversion optimization deeply and can apply it on day one, not someone we have to teach the fundamentals to.
Conversion strategy and metrics
- Strong grasp of revenue per visitor as primary success metrics, and how to move them
- Understands the full economics of a funnel: take rate, average order value, conversion rate, and how a change to one affects the others
- Can read funnel analytics, diagnose why an offer is underperforming, and form a clear hypothesis for the next test
- Knows how to balance aggressive monetization against customer experience risk, for example weighing a higher revenue per visitor against refund rate, chargebacks, or support ticket volume, and can frame those tradeoffs for a client using real percentages
Testing and experimentation
- Hands-on experience designing and running structured A/B tests
- Understands sample size, test duration, and how to call a result with confidence rather than reacting to noise
- Disciplined about isolating variables so you actually know what drove a change
- Habit of documenting before-and-after states for every test so wins and losses are both repeatable and explainable
- Using Ai to speed up execution without sacrificing quality and direction
Post-purchase and offer building
- Experience building post-purchase upsells, downsells, and multi-step funnels
- Understands offer construction and pricing psychology: how to frame an upgrade, when to lead with savings versus value, and how to write upsell copy that converts
- Familiar with product placement and selection logic within a funnel (most expensive item in cart, first available variant, bundles, and so on) and how each affects performance
Checkout and broader CRO
- Knows the levers that move checkout conversion rate: urgency, social proof, layout, trust signals, and copy
- Comfortable with checkout upsells, in-cart upsells, and thank-you page offers as additional revenue surfaces
- Strong understanding of direct response copywriting and conversion strategy
Tools and execution
- Hands-on experience with After Sell or a comparable post-purchase upsell platform
- Solid working knowledge of Shopify and how subscriptions, variants, and SKUs behave
- Comfortable designing conversion-focused landing page designs in Figma (or Ai)
- Basic HTML and CSS for custom tweaks is a plus
How you work
- Able to run independent tests and develop strategies, not just execute instructions
- Data-driven and organized, with a real habit of documenting your work
- Reliable on timelines. When you commit to a test, it ships when you said it would.
- A strong communicator who thrives in a collaborative let's try both ideas environment rather than a my way is the only way one
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Airtable for workflow and test tracking
- Experience working agency-side across multiple e-commerce brands at once
Compensation and growth
- Full-time…
