A&M provides services to mine sites that improve the function and safety of the sites. A&M has full-time, entry level positions available for employees looking to work underground. No previous experience working on mine sites is required to apply to this position. Training is provided and paid for by A&M, and PPE is provided.
A&M operates at mine sites all around the Sudbury basin 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Accordingly, prospective employees must have a reliable vehicle to get them to work up to 45 minutes outside of downtown Sudbury.
Job Responsibilities
A&M’s core business is in underground waste management and the cleaning and maintenance of underground facilities. All entry level staff are expected to fill these roles. Additional training may be provided once employees have demonstrated excellence in our core responsibilities and as opportunities arise.
Regular responsibilities include:
Waste Management – manual sorting, handling and packaging waste for proper disposal.
Latrine/Refuge Cleaning and Maintenance – clean and maintain latrines and refuges in the mine, including restocking supplies and pumping out latrines as needed.
Operating Mobile Equipment – Perform pre-operational checks and safe operation in line with site specific travel protocol. Various equipment is used including RTV, Jeep, forklift, Minecat.
All staff are expected to complete hazard assessments, regular housekeeping and routine equipment maintenance tasks.
Shift Structure
We are looking for full time employees. This is typically 4-5 shifts weekly at 10 hours per shift.
Day shift roles are available.
Compensation
$22.00/hr starting wage. Wage increases possible after 3 months and every year thereafter.

Out‑Of‑Town Work
There is the possibility for remote work based in Northern Quebec although it is not a requirement for this position. Applicants interested in working out-of-town should indicate their interest in doing so.
