Position: REGISTERED NURSE (RN ON

2 Temporary, open-ended full-time contract positions (2-week notice period from both parties). Must be available to work varying shifts, weekends and statutory holidays

POSITION SUMMARY

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides leadership and delivers expert, compassionate palliative care to residents in accordance with MMH policies and procedures. The RN assesses and anticipates physical, emotional, spiritual, and psychosocial needs; develops, implements, and evaluates individualized care plans; and ensures compliance with medication administration and control regulations. As a clinical role model, the RN fosters a culture of excellence among staff, volunteers, families, and community partners.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
  • Certified Hospice Palliative Care Nurse [CHPCN(C)] or willingness to obtain within 12 months of hire
  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Certified in LEAP Core (Learning Essential Approaches to Palliative Care) or willingness to complete within 3 months of hire
  • Demonstrated expertise in pain and symptom management for advanced-illness patients
Preferred
  • Recent clinical experience in hospice/palliative care (HPC) is preferred
  • Bilingualism (English/French), written and verbal, (or willingness to pursue) is an asset
  • Certification in IV administration an asset

  • Deep commitment to the Hospice philosophy of care
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and prioritization abilities
  • Physical ability to perform all duties of the role
  • Highly developed problem-solving and conflict management skills
  • Compassionate interpersonal style, adept at supporting residents and families through end-of-life care
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

SALARY: Starting at $36.54 (commensurate with experience)
