Dementia Care Registered Practical Nurse

Location: Greater Sudbury

Elevate elderly care at North Bay Regional Health Centre as a Registered Practical Nurse in the Regional Dementia Care Services. Provide specialized assessment and management for older adults experiencing dementia and behavioral challenges.

The position focuses on delivering care to older adults, primarily those over 65, facing complex comorbidities and responsive behaviors associated with dementia. Candidates must have a current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario, Basic Life Support certification, and Gentle Persuasive Approach training.

Your role will be pivotal in collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care planning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct specialized assessments of older adults with dementia

• Develop and implement responsive care management strategies

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team for effective care planning

• Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with standards

• Ensure safety protocols and preventive measures are followed

Requirements:

• Current Nursing Registration in Ontario

• Recent BLS for Health Care Providers certification

• Gentle Persuasive Approach certification

• Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles

• Proven experience with responsive behaviors in elderly care
