Laboratory Assistant

Position: Laboratory Assistant at ALS
Location: Greater Sudbury

Become an integral part of ALS as a Laboratory Assistant in the Centralized Soil Prep Lab. Engage in sample preparation and laboratory maintenance while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

This position requires proficiency in both simple and complex sample handling, along with routine lab tasks. You will assist analysts, train new lab assistants, and manage sample storage effectively. Previous laboratory experience is essential, and the role necessitates adherence to safety regulations and strict deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform accurate sample disposal and retrieval tasks

• Assist analysts with routine laboratory procedures

• Train new lab assistants under supervision

• Weigh and tray samples accurately as needed

• Comply with ALS health and safety policies

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Previous laboratory experience preferred

• Strong English communication skills required

• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs regularly

• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
