Locksmith and Security Systems Manager

Shape the future of campus safety as a Locksmith managing electronic access systems at Laurentian University. This role focuses on key management and enhancing security for faculty and students.

Reporting to the Manager of Trades, you will take charge of both mechanical locks and networked electronic access systems across campus. The position emphasizes proactive management of a comprehensive locking and access control strategy that ensures compliance with safety standards.

Your role requires in-depth technical knowledge and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain the university’s electronic card access system

• Assign and monitor access rights for users

• Troubleshoot emergency access system issues

• Develop key control documentation for accuracy

• Collaborate with security and facilities for integrated setups

Requirements:

• Three years post-secondary education in locksmithing

• Valid drivers’ license with a clean record

• Experience managing complex key and access systems

• Strong grasp of safety codes and standards

• Proficient with Honeywell EBI and Keystone software
