Redpath Canada Limited is looking for operators with extensive experience at drilling, scaling, meshing and bolting rounds using jumbos equipped with twin telescopic slides. This technique was initially developed internationally and is now widely used in many countries. The successful candidate will demonstrate superior skills, dexterity and safety awareness.

• Primary face drilling and scaling; drilling and bolting of inclines, declines, drifts and mass excavations.
• Identify and remedy misfires.
• Conduct pre‑start checks of equipment and drill site.
• Read and follow drilling layouts and ground support instructions.
• Adhere to specifications, schedules and standards.
• Familiar with hard‑rock mining techniques.
• Visually inspect, sound, scale and wash down work area; check for bootlegs, miss holes, flags, and repair vent tubing.
• Assess ground conditions at the face and implement ground control per site requirements.
• Extend grade, center line, mark face for drilling and circle bootlegs; maintain hanging wall and foot wall control in junction with geologist.
• Capability for jackleg and/or stopper drilling as needed.
• Determine location, spacing, depth and inclination of holes.
• Perform minor repairs such as changing striker bars, couplings, water tubes and hose clamps.
• Complete daily logbooks on equipment and submit written and verbal reports to supervisor.
• Load, prime, time, connect and test blasting circuit.
• Maintain a clean and orderly working area and equipment.
• Comprehend written and verbal instructions to perform duties safely and efficiently.
• Follow proper procedure to ensure safety and prevent equipment damage.

• Maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
• Follow Redpath health and safety standards; report any unsafe acts or conditions.
• Participate in incident/accident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment.
• Possess knowledge of WHMIS legislation and use MSDS sheets effectively.
• Comply with Mine Regulation Act and applicable regulations.

• High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Experience on Sandvik Jumbo is essential.
• 3+ years operating Jumbo Drill in underground mining.
• Ontario Hard Rock Underground Common Core – Full Basic (required).
• Required Specialty Module: U0089 (or provincial equivalent).
• Ability to read mine plans and specifications for underground mining.
• Multitasking and effective teamwork skills.
• Adaptability to change.
• Strong communication skills.
