Part Time Transit Serviceperson Greater

Join the City of Greater Sudbury as a Part Time Transit Service person. This limited casual role requires vehicle maintenance, service duties, and cleaning tasks to ensure efficient transit operations.

As a member of the CUPE 4705 Outside Unit, you will perform essential duties focused on cleaning, servicing transit vehicles, and maintaining bus stops. This position involves shift work, with the potential for up to 48 hours bi-weekly. Candidates should demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and interpersonal skills for effective public interaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean, detail and service all transit vehicles

• Empty fareboxes nightly from each transit vehicle

• Shuttle, park, and relocate transit vehicles

• Report any vehicle abnormalities and issues

• Maintain and clean bus stops and shelters

Requirements:

• Completed Secondary School education

• Class “DZ” driver’s license or ability to obtain within 6 months

• Physically capable of lifting up to 70 lbs

• Proven mechanical ability and aptitude

• Good interpersonal skills for public interaction
