Part Time Professor, Powerline Technician Program

Cambrian College’s School of Skills Training is seeking part-time professors to teach in the Powerline Technician program starting in September 2025. This position will primarily focus on delivering the Powerline Construction course, which includes 8 hours of field instruction.

Required:

• Powerline Technician (434A) Certificate of Qualification is required; a Powerline Technician Certificate of Apprenticeship is considered an asset. A copy of educational documents must be submitted with application.
  *** If education was completed outside of Canada, applicants are required to submit a WES or ICAS with their application.
• Minimum five years of practical work experience in distribution at the Journeyperson level is required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and superior oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to be an effective role model in the classroom.
• Ability to use creative teaching approaches and current and emerging teaching and learning strategies to enhance student progress.
• Possess good organizational skills and sound computer software skills.
• Ability to function within a team environment.

Additional Assets/Preferred:

• Postsecondary diploma in Powerline Technician or Advanced Diploma.
• Previous teaching experience at the postsecondary level.
• Experience with apprenticeship mentorship, adult or post-secondary level teaching is considered an asset.
