Beauty Sales Consultant – CVS Health

At CVS Health, we’re building a world of health around every consumer. Our beauty retail division is a leading pharmacy with more than 9,000 stores, growing each year. We seek a talented, sales‑oriented consultant passionate about the retail beauty industry who believes the client experience should be top‑notch.

Position Summary

As a Beauty Sales Consultant you will be the primary beauty advisor in the store’s beauty zone, delivering friendly and knowledgeable sales service to every customer. You will build personalized, robust baskets, recommend products, and ensure the zone is welcoming and clean.

Responsibilities
  • Seek out customers and deliver personalized sales service based on their needs, including effective upselling and suggestive selling.
  • Engage in conversation with each customer, listening to their information and providing specialized sales advice.
  • Be the brand expert by answering questions in detail with product knowledge to maximize the sales basket.
  • Use the facilities provided to educate customers on product usage and benefits, leveraging the CVS beauty monthly sampling program.
  • Represent company sales programs or events, explain promotions, and invite customers to special in‑store events or win‑for‑the‑sale.
  • Create and maintain product displays, end caps, and other beauty‑specific promotional materials supporting key brands and local advertising.
  • Maintain a clean, well‑stocked, and hygienically compliant beauty zone at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with CVS tester sanitation, hazardous waste disposal, and tool cleansing policies.
  • Complete initial 30/60/90‑day onboarding training and continue with ongoing training to maintain current sales, product, and selling skills.
  • Execute sales plans, meet budgets, and track progress to achieve success.
  • Participate in sales training meetings and conference calls; stay updated on programs, promotions, brand launches, and customer care initiatives.
  • Maintain a professional appearance in compliance with company guidelines at all times.
  • Be curious, excited about the latest beauty trends, and seek further product knowledge and client service skills.
Required Qualifications
  • High sales orientation with strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to use sales data and product knowledge to meet sales and beauty service goals.
  • Goal‑driven, multitasking ability, and work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Flexible retail schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, extended hours, and peak hours.
  • Physical ability to stand, move throughout the store, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach lower shelves.
  • Can perform manual dexterity tasks such as ear‑piercing (training provided).
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior beauty sales experience.
  • Current knowledge of beauty products and brands.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Support the essential functions of the role, including prolonged standing, moving, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
  • Perform manual dexterity tasks such as ear‑piercing.
