Senior Audit Consultant – Atlantic Community Bankers Bank (ACBB)

Atlantic Community Bankers Bank (ACBB) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Audit Services Consultant to join our Shatswell McLeod team.

Position

Summary

As a Senior Audit Services Consultant, you'll be an integral part of our audit team, working with leadership and clients to ensure the successful completion of outsourced internal audits. This role includes completing assigned internal audits, preparing audit reports, communicating audit status and results to clients, collaborating with internal leadership and team members, and supporting the delivery of high-quality audit services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Interface and Service:
    Work with clients to ensure awareness of and preparedness for upcoming audits.
  • Respond to client questions regarding audits and related matters.
  • Ensure plan execution: plan audits, send material requests, complete queries.
  • Complete audit write‑ups and associated work papers to fully support the audit effort.
  • Hold closing meetings with clients to discuss audit results and ensure agreement.
  • Prepare and communicate audit reports to clients.
  • Review audit work completed by others to ensure proper completion, documentation, quality, and adherence to Shatswell standards.
  • Present audit findings at periodic Audit Committee meetings.
  • Communicate status of audits to clients, including any issues noted, via phone, email or in person.
  • Coordinate with Shatswell team members regarding audit status and respond to queries.
  • Manage multiple assignments simultaneously, prioritize work based on client and team needs.
  • Travel to client locations for internal audits, company training events, and banking industry events as needed.
Requirements / Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance or similar preferred, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Five or more years of auditing experience, preferably in banking.
  • Experience in internal audit or financial services environments.
  • Knowledge of internal control processes.
  • Experience managing audit processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to write client‑facing audit reports.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for building and maintaining professional relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Attention to detail and ability to perform tasks requiring visual and auditory focus.

Job Type: Full Time

Pay: $78,000 – $146,000 per year (compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications).

Physical Demands / Working Environment:

  • Primarily sedentary, requiring occasional movement throughout the office environment.
  • Travel to client worksites required.
  • Vision abilities required include close and distance vision, ability to adjust focus.
  • Physical activity requiring reaching, lifting to 25 lbs., repetitive motions, listening and speaking.
  • Frequent communication with accuracy.
