General Foreman - Earthworks - Sizewell C, Suffolk Site based Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C

As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell

C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2‑gigawatt power station generating low‑carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This role will be within the Enabling and Earthwork Section.

The role is responsible for the delivery of high profile projects involving earthworks, deep drainage and reinforced concrete construction, to ensure that customer expectations are exceeded and enhanced experience for all involved in the scheme. Solution orientated individual, with ability to analyse risks and benefits of options to resolve identified issues. Proven experience of working to tight deadlines with an ability to prioritise and multi‑task.

Capable of taking ownership of the works or a section of the works from start to finish, including the handover of the works.

Knowledge & Skills

• Capable of taking ownership of the works or a section of the works from start to finish, including the handover of the works
• Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately
• Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes
• Strong work ethic with flexibility to work unsociable hours/nights
• Able to work on own initiative and seek out opportunities in line with level of responsibility
• Holds a current driving licence and CSCS Card
• SMSTS
• 42 hours per week
• Must be a good team player, with strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience of managing the works of direct labour and subcontractors
• Experience working within environmental protected sites
• Experience in one or more of the following disciplines: ground improvement techniques, earthworks, drainage, structures
