Leader Group is delighted to be working in partnership with a respected Therapeutic Education Service provider to recruit an Experienced Pastoral Manager for an exciting specialist SEND school in Sudbury. Pastoral Lead Sudbury

Salary: £26,000 £ 35,000
Contract: Full Time (40 hours per week)

We are seeking a committed and compassionate Pastoral Lead to join a supportive specialist education setting in King s Lynn. This is a fantastic opportunity to guide a dedicated team and play a key role in supporting children to thrive emotionally, socially, and academically.

As Pastoral Lead, you will champion student wellbeing, build strong and trusting relationships, promote independence, and help create a safe, nurturing environment where every child can achieve their full potential.

About the Provision

This is a small and growing specialist school set within a unique and welcoming environment. The provision offers a bespoke, therapeutic, and trauma-informed approach to education for pupils for whom mainstream education is not suitable.

This is an exciting time to join a passionate staff team focused on enhancing the educational experience for more young people and shaping the future of the provision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support school leaders by celebrating students, staff, and achievements to build pride and a shared vision

  • Model school values and apply fair, consistent boundaries

  • Work closely with the Safeguarding Lead to ensure student safety and wellbeing

  • Be welcoming and approachable to parents, carers, and visitors

  • Track and support the progress of vulnerable students

  • Promote positive behaviour across the school

  • Support students with Behaviour Support Plans, Pastoral Plans, and EHCPs

  • Collaborate with senior leaders, SENDCo, and colleagues to meet individual student needs

Requirements
  • Passionate commitment to supporting students with SEND

  • Minimum of 2 years experience working in a SEND or similar setting

  • Experience in a pastoral or similar educational role

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a child-centred approach
