Contract: Permanent, Full time
Role OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and inspiring Electrical Installations Tutor to deliver high quality Electrics training to learners at HMP Highpoint. Working with small groups, you will help learners develop essential technical skills, knowledge, and safe working behaviours, enabling them to achieve Level 2 Electrics qualifications and improve their employment prospects upon release.
You will create structured, engaging learning experiences that support confidence, skill development, and progression. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine impact in a secure learning environment.
Key Responsibilities Teaching & Learning Delivery- Deliver Electrics / Electrical Installations qualifications up to Level 2.
- Create individual learning plans to support learner progress and employability goals.
- Use a variety of inclusive and engaging teaching methods to motivate learners.
- Deliver practical and theory based lessons aligned with awarding body standards.
- Support learners with clear advice, constructive feedback, and tailored guidance.
- Assess learners' work and ensure it meets awarding body and industry requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress records in line with quality standards.
- Uphold safeguarding, equality, diversity, and health & safety expectations.
- Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installations or related field.
- Strong, hands on vocational experience in the electrical industry.
- Experience delivering vocational, technical, or practical training.
- Ability to engage learners using a range of teaching and assessment methods.
- Teaching or assessing qualification (PTLLS, AET, TAQA, etc.) or willingness to work towards one.
- Experience working in prison education or similar alternative provisions.
- Understanding of Ofsted and quality assurance frameworks.
