The Role
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join our growing commercial team. The role will involve pricing, cost control, and commercial management across a diverse range of civil engineering and specialist construction projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute professional looking to work on technically interesting projects within a well-established and respected organisation.

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare accurate cost estimates and tenders for civil engineering and specialist construction projects

· Carry out quantity take-offs and bill of quantities preparation

· Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations

· Assist with commercial management of live projects, including valuations, cost reporting, and final accounts

· Support contract administration and change control processes

· Work closely with project managers, engineers, and technical teams across multiple divisions

· Identify cost risks and value engineering opportunities

· Ensure compliance with contractual and company procedures

Requirements

· Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor and/or Estimator within civil engineering or construction

· Strong understanding of cost planning, tendering, and commercial management

· Experience working with NEC and/or JCT contracts (desirable)

· Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

· Excellent numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills

· Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach

· Proficient in estimating and commercial software (desirable)

· Full UK driving licence (preferred due to nationwide projects)
