Credit Controller

Location: EYE Salary: Competitive + benefitsJob Type: Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)

Fully office based/ Perm

Hours:

9:00am to 5:00pm or 8:30am to 4:30pm.

The Opportunity

We're currently recruiting for an experienced Credit Controller to join a dynamic and growing finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially aware individual to take ownership of the credit control function, working closely with stakeholders across the business and playing a key role in protecting cash flow while supporting ongoing growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end credit control function, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debt
  • Assess customer creditworthiness and set appropriate credit limits and payment terms
  • Monitor customer accounts and enforce credit limits, escalating risks where necessary
  • Produce and analyse aged debtor reports, identifying and managing high-risk accounts
  • Raise accurate and timely sales invoices and allocate incoming payments
  • Investigate and resolve queries including short payments, disputes, and unallocated cash
  • Advise the business on risk mitigation strategies, including alternative payment methods (e.g. Letters of Credit, prepayments)
  • Support cash flow forecasting with accurate debtor insights
  • Liaise with internal teams (Sales, Projects, Finance) and external stakeholders including banks
  • Continuously improve processes, reporting, and systems within the credit control function

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in a Credit Controller role, ideally within an international or complex business
  • Strong understanding of credit risk, debtor management, and cash flow principles
  • Experience working with cross-border customers and international transactions
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong Excel and general IT skills
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset

Desirable

  • Experience with Letters of Credit or international payment methods
  • AAT qualification (or equivalent experience)
  • Additional language skills
