We’re looking for people to join Suffolk Cricket Limited in bringing CPA 2.0 inclusive) to fruition over the next few years.
The opportunity to join Suffolk Cricket Limited is an opportunity to support recreational cricket in the county, striving to strengthen the message that Cricket is a Game for All.
Cricket is a game for all, and Suffolk Cricket offers cricket to a diverse range of communities. One of our core objectives is to provide an inclusive environment which allows the game to be accessed and enjoyed by all in whatever capacity, and our commitment to this objective encompasses the importance of our Board being generally reflective of the Suffolk community and representative of a broad range of perspectives and experiences.

To be an active Board Member primarily leading on all Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) matters. The successful applicant will be committed to providing an effective, high quality service that helps build a positive, inclusive and equitable working culture while making EDI part of all we do. This will include driving improvement and change through collaborative working. To support and provide knowledge and information that may support the development and opportunities of SCL.
We seek a person to lead Suffolk Cricket Limited (SCL) in meeting the requirements of the EDI Standards within the ECB County Partnership Agreement (CPA). Attend SCL Board Meetings – four per annum. The position as a Director of the Board, is unpaid, however expenses will be covered.
- To be the lead strategic person around the promotion and implementation of EDI.
- Assist in the continued development, marketing and delivery of our EDI action plan.
- Build and test positive action to increase diversity and inclusion across SCL.
- Support the delivery of learning initiatives that contribute to advancing EDI.
- Work closely with the ECB to ensure SCL aligns with the National Governing Body’s strategic objectives.
- Challenge and support the Board about the decisions that they make, especially those aligned to EDI.
- Support the delivery of learning initiatives that contribute to advancing EDI.
- To be open and clear around any conflict of interests.
- To oversee SCL aligns to strong EDI practices, policies and training.
- To agree to follow SCL’s Directors Code of Conduct.
- Strong decision-making skills that allow informed decisions to be made.
- Experience of working within Sport or Community Development.
- Ability to build and maintain strong, transparent relationships with key stakeholders.
- Understanding of the role and responsibilities around EDI.
- Ability to listen effectively and to ask probing questions.

Subject to references, invitations to join SCL will be made by the Chairperson on the advice of a recruitment panel selected from the ECB and Board Members. Candidates will be required to attend an interview with the panel to discuss their application and answer questions.
