We are seeking a motivated and experienced leader to oversee the daily operations of our GAP (Guilty Anticipated Plea) team. This role is responsible for managing workflows, allocating resources, and ensuring high-quality, compliant case progression from pre-charge through to outcome. You will provide first-line management to Case Workers and Case Progression & Support Officers, supporting their performance, wellbeing, and professional development.

As a key point of contact, you will guide case-building activity, prioritise workloads, and collaborate closely with criminal justice partners to meet deadlines and deliver excellent service. You will play a vital role in maintaining team resilience, driving continuous improvement, and fostering an inclusive, high-performing environment.

The essential criteria for this role is:
  • 1. Experience of supervising the daily business and HR activity of a team in a busy and challenging environment, maintaining high standards and compliance with policy and legislation.
  • 2. Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to supervise and roster staff with different roles effectively, providing resilience and flexibility.
  • 3. Proven ability to manage high and varied workloads effectively, prioritising appropriately and delivering to high standards within challenging deadlines.
  • 4. Experience of effective collaborative working with other teams or agencies.
  • 5. Excellent communication skills across all media with the ability to deliver complex messaging clearly and concisely.
  • 6. Experience of recruiting and retaining talent with ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • 7. Experience of working in a Criminal Justice Environment.
  • 8. Ability to travel as required within Norfolk and Suffolk. (This is a Suffolk based role)
Desirable criteria:
  • 1. Knowledge of CJS related legislation and policy.

Please note, this role is based in Suffolk and is a full-time, permanent post with a requirement early start (from 07:00hrs).
