Mechanical Maintenance Engineer required for a leading food manufacturing business in Suffolk. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer from a manufacturing, FMCG, food production or packaging background to join a stable business offering a £51,000 salary, overtime and genuine career progression.

Rotating 12-hour days and nights

The Role
As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you'll be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across a busy food manufacturing facility, ensuring maximum equipment reliability and minimising downtime.
Duties include:
Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
Reactive breakdown repairs
Mechanical fault finding
Continuous improvement activities
Equipment installation and upgrades
Supporting production efficiency and site reliability
Machinery & Equipment
Working on a variety of manufacturing and packaging machinery including:
Conveyors
Production machinery
Packaging machinery
Proseal equipment
Multivac systems
Vacuum packers and sealers
Metal detectors
Labelling equipment
Bearings, motors, chains and sprockets
General food production machinery
Requirements
Mechanical Maintenance Engineer experience within manufacturing, FMCG, food production or packaging environments
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Experience maintaining production machinery
Knowledge of conveyors, bearings, motors, gearboxes, chains and mechanical systems
Positive attitude and team-focused approach
