What You’ll Do As a Senior Social Worker, you’ll play a key role in safeguarding children and supporting families through complex and challenging situations. You will:
Hold a complex caseload requiring strong assessment, planning and risk-management skills Deliver high-quality interventions in line with statutory duties and best practice Conduct comprehensive risk and needs assessments for children in need, at risk, or looked after Lead on child protection, court work, and permanency planning Work collaboratively with health, education, police, housing and other partners Provide emergency response where children are at immediate risk Model excellent practice and contribute to the learning culture within the team Offer mentoring, support or supervision to students and junior staff (where appropriate) About You You’ll bring: A Social Work degree (or equivalent) and Social Work England registration At least two years’ post-qualified experience in childcare, including Section 47, court work, and direct work with children Strong analytical, assessment and report-writing skills Confidence working autonomously while positively engaging with supervision A commitment to anti-discriminatory practice and inclusive service delivery The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment You’ll be someone who is adaptable, resilient, committed to continuous learning, and motivated by achieving the best outcomes for children.
