Salary: £41,502 - £47,054 per annum (pro rata for part‑time), plus retention payments of £1,000, £1,500 and £2,000 for 2, 3 and 5 years of service.

Senior Social Worker

We are recruiting countywide for Senior Social Workers in Adult Social Care. Social Workers working with Suffolk County Council play an integral role in our preventative approach to Social Care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage complex caseloads and provide expert, effective practice in challenging situations.
  • Support colleagues with their caseloads, acting as a source of specialist advice.
  • Contribute to the development of practice standards.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with partners, other agencies and the voluntary sector to improve outcomes for clients.
  • Make clear decisions and limit potential risks associated with interventions.
Requirements
  • Qualified, registered social worker with completion of the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment.
  • Evidence of 2 years of continued professional development and capability of practice in accordance with current professional standards.
  • In‑depth understanding of the financial implications of commissioned care packages.
  • Valid driving licence and access to personal transport.
