SummaryThe Infant Teacher is responsible for developing a cohesive teaching team, coordinating the curriculum, and managing daily operational activities. Teachers must understand children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment, actively engage children, and encourage success. The Teacher must skillfully communicate with children, adults, and parents to meet children's needs, guide teacher assistants, and resolve parental concerns.
Responsibilities- Coordinate and implement educational curriculum based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
- Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
- Plan individual and group age‑appropriate activities that promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth.
- Maintain frequent communication with parents via informal discussions, progress reports, and conferences.
- Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
- Maintain a healthy classroom environment with proper hygiene, cleanliness, safety, and security standards.
- Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers to ensure adherence to planned activities, hygiene, and safety.
- Maintain accurate records, forms, and files.
- Pursue personal professional development for continuous quality improvement.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director.
- Drive center vehicle(s) and transport children when necessary.
- Minimum education:
Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. - Minimum of 2 years of professional childcare experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- High energy and ability to work well with staff, children, and parents.
- Strong understanding of child development.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
- Must clear a full background check and health screening.
- Must be at least 18 years old (21 years old when working with infants).
- Physical ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools, and controls; ability to kneel, bend, squat, crawl.
- Vision ability: see close and distant, colors, peripheral, depth perception.
