C. The Geotechnical Sub-Alliance (GSA) plays a vital role in preparing the ground for construction, using advanced techniques such as piling, diaphragm walling, soil mixing, and grouting. This is your opportunity to be part of a collaborative team delivering safe, efficient, and high‑quality results.

Working as part of our Projects division, the Quantity Surveyor will be a key point of contact within the Commercial Team and will be part of a collaborative alliance delivering safe, efficient, and high‑quality results.

• Support senior commercial team members while managing procurement and supply chain relationships.
• Drive value for money and cost efficiency without compromising quality.
• Measure, record, and value work independently, prepare Bills of Quantities, and build estimates from first principles.
• Manage commercial activities, cost reconciliations, and stakeholder relationships.
• Use ERP systems for cost and value tracking and ensure governance compliance.

• Essential: BSc/MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.
• Ideally working towards or holding professional membership (RICS, ICES, CIOB).
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to interpret technical drawings.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a focus on achieving results.
• Previous commercial experience and industry knowledge are desirable.

• Previous experience or exposure to NEC Contracts.
• Piling/Earthworks/Civils experience.

For more than 60 years, nuclear power stations in the UK have been quietly keeping Britain fuelled with massive amounts of home‑grown energy. EDF is leading the UK's nuclear renaissance with the construction of a new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C and plans for a new power station at Sizewell C in Suffolk.

Nuclear power is the most reliable, low‑carbon energy source currently available to the UK. EDF is playing a key role in the development of nuclear sites, while Hinkley Point C will provide low‑carbon electricity to meet 7% of the UK demand. The project is already making a positive impact on the local and national economy as well as boosting skills and education.
