Tidewater Physicians Multispecialty Group (TPMG) is looking for Qualified Certified Medical Assistants for Suffolk locations! Competitive Pay Starting at $15/hr tpmg is comprised of over 200 physicians and advanced practice clinicians and is the largest physician‑owned group in Tidewater.

The Medical Assistant exudes a strong dedication to offering exceptional patient care, facilitating the efficient flow of the patient office visit experience while maintaining high quality and compassionate care.

• Perform patient intake to include medical history with accurate documentation in the electronic health record.
• Patient triage to include vital signs (i.e., blood pressure, pulse, respirations, temperature, height and weight).
• Perform phlebotomy and ancillary clinical kit testing and specimen collection.
• Administer immunizations and a variety of injections.
• Maintain temperature logs, QA processes, OSHA policies.
• Ensure accurate performance of EKGs.
• Assist physician with gynecologic, surgical and wound procedures/exams.
• Complete pharmaceutical prior authorizations.
• Perform phone triage to include communication with pharmacies for patient medication refills.
• Perform Medicare Annual Wellness Visits.
• Set up, clean, and stock exam rooms.
• Enter laboratory and radiology orders electronically.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of laboratory techniques to perform routine laboratory tests.
• Knowledge of laboratory equipment and testing to operate, clean, and sterilize.
• Knowledge of appropriate medical terminology to communicate with medical and laboratory staff.
• Skill in operating a variety of laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
• Skill in proper reporting of laboratory tests.
• Skill in communicating clearly with diverse publics.
• Skill in appropriately billing orders collected.
• Ability to work scheduled hours as defined in the job offer.
• Ability to work in multiple computer systems effectively.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
• Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions and follow written protocols.
• Ability to work independently.

• COVID‑19 vaccination required.
• Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, CCMA, NRCMA, NCMA, or RMA).
• Current CPR or BLS certificate.
