IM​/KM – Journeyman

Description

Information Systems Solutions (ISS) is looking for an IM/KM – Journeyman to support the JS J7 Joint Training Dev Sec Ops  pipeline core infrastructure and data center in Suffolk, VA. The selected candidate will support the Deputy Directorate, Joint Training (DDJT). The ideal candidate will be a pivotal link between our product, development, and business units, ensuring that information flows seamlessly and our organizational knowledge is captured, curated, and shared effectively.

Operating within a fast-paced Agile environment, you will manage knowledge repositories and develop strategies to enhance collaboration, improve project documentation, and support continuous learning across the organization. This role is 100% onsite.

• Responsible for information and knowledge management operations across areas such as procurement, logistics, network, systems, or web services, including generating, collecting, and managing information using current techniques and technology.
• Manage, organize, and maintain all project documentation using tools like Confluence and Jira, ensuring accuracy, version control, and easy accessibility for all team members.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain comprehensive Confluence-based documentation for ongoing projects.
• Oversee knowledge repositories to keep content up-to-date, accurate, and a valuable resource for the team.
• Lead the development and execution of knowledge capture strategies to improve organizational knowledge sharing and long-term retention.
• Design and manage the content architecture for knowledge management systems to enhance internal communication and foster collaboration.
• Develop and implement robust knowledge transfer programs to ensure smooth onboarding for new hires and ongoing professional development for all team members.
• Translate complex business needs into detailed technical documentation, bridging gaps between business stakeholders and technical teams.

• Certifications (IAT Level II): one of the following
• CySA+
• Security+
• CCNA - Security
• GICSP
• GSEC
• SSCP
• 3-5+ years of experience in knowledge management, business analysis, technical writing, or a related role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Atlassian suite tools (Jira and Confluence) for documentation and project management.
• Proven experience in an Agile/Scrum development environment and understanding of its ceremonies and principles.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and a passion for structuring information.

• Experience designing and implementing knowledge capture and transfer strategies from the ground up.
• Familiarity with various knowledge management systems and best practices.
• Agile or Scrum Master certification (e.g., CSM, PSM) is a plus.
• Experience developing onboarding materials or corporate training programs.
