Summary / ObjectiveIn keeping with our organization’s goal of improving the lives of the Residents we serve, the Regional Director of Maintenance will be supervising the maintenance directors to help maintain all physical plant assets on the property. The Director of Maintenance manages the day-to-day operations of the greater maintenance department.
Essential Functions- Responsible for all service and repair tasks as assigned.
- Operates the maintenance department in a safe manner by ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations and following established policies and procedures.
- Ensures the physical buildings meet all safety and building codes.
- Schedules vendors and contractors for necessary building repairs and emergencies outside the scope of routine maintenance.
- Assists in emergency situations related to the physical plant and acts as the facility’s safety officer.
- Ensure that regular equipment and systems maintenance schedules are monitored and followed at all times.
- Works with department heads and facility maintenance directors to ensure routine maintenance in Resident care areas does not interfere with the care or safety of Residents.
- Responsible for operating the Maintenance Department within budgetary guidelines and limitations.
- Completes annual performance reviews of all subordinate staff. Provides guidance and education to staff in regards to their performance.
- Responsible for training and educating staff members and training new hired facility directors.
- Maintains the comfort, privacy and dignity of Residents and interacts with them in a manner that displays warmth, respect and promotes a caring environment.
- Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with Residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.

High School diploma or equivalent
3 years’ experience working as a supervisor in a long-term care building maintenance capacity.
Preferred Education And Experience5 years’ experience in a facilities maintenance role.
Associates degree in construction technology or similar field
