Registered Nurse; RN - Emergency Department - Nights

Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, Virginia is hiring a Full Time RN (Registered Nurse) to join our Emergency Department Team.
Role and StandardsThe RN performs a competent level of nursing care using the nursing process. The standards of practice include assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation, along with professional performance standards such as ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards required by specific clinical areas.
BSN or MSN preferred. Meets and maintains any requirements defined by specific specialty.
The department is 37 beds, including a dedicated 5-bed Behavioral Health Safe Suite located within the department. We treat more than 53,000 visits annually (approximately 150 per day).

Position Details- Full time, 36 hours per week
- Nights 7pm - 7am
- RN-Associate’s Degree
- RN-Bachelor’s Degree
- RN-Diploma
- RN-Master’s Degree
- Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire
- ACLS and PALS or ENPC within one year of hire
- We are unable to consider new grad RNs currently.
- Prefer a minimum of 6 months of RN experience in an acute care setting such as Emergency Room, Intensive Care Unit, Intermediate Care Unit, Recovery Room. May consider acute care experience in other unit types.
