As a Resource Pool RN, you’ll have the opportunity to provide expert nursing care across multiple departments, building diverse clinical experience while making a difference in the lives of patients throughout the hospital. You’ll deliver safe, high-quality, and compassionate care guided by Sentara’s standards of practice and professional performance.
Responsibilities- Provide competent, patient-centered nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation).
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
- Demonstrate sound clinical judgment and adaptability in a variety of units and patient populations.
- Participate in health teaching, patient education, and care planning.
- Promote ethical, evidence-based, and culturally congruent nursing practice.
- Support quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a positive team environment.
- BSN or MSN preferred.
- Valid RN license in the state of Virginia (or compact state).
- BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
- Specialty certifications/training as applicable by clinical area:
- Critical Care/IMCU: ACLS within 1 year of hire.
- Emergency Care: ACLS & PALS (or ENPC) within 1 year of hire.
- Oncology Care: ONS/ONCC or Sentara-approved Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months of hire.
- Women’s Care/Perinatal: NRP within 6 months of hire.
- Inpatient Pediatrics: PALS within 6 months of hire.
