Location: Suffolk, Virginia
Start date: Dec 2025
Project duration: 2 years (initial 1 year renewable)
Job OverviewThis role involves leading research activities across breeding, phenomics, genomics, agronomics, economics, food science and engineering, coordinating field testing sites in Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, and Delaware.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and coordinate multi‑state faba bean production research project.
- Design and execute field experiments; collect and analyze data.
- Prepare technical reports and manuscripts; communicate results to stakeholders.
- Travel frequently to testing sites.
- Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in agronomy, crop science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in agricultural field work throughout the growing season and in adverse weather.
- Proficiency with field equipment.
- Strong team and independent work skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word for data/table preparation.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting.
- Experience working in field conditions during the entire growing season.
- Safe driving license.
$53,000 – $55,000 per year (commensurate with experience)
Full‑time (40 hrs/week)
